In the last couple of years I've learned to "shop the outside of the store". I only dive into the center for a few items, one of which is natural peanut butter. It can be difficult to find, and is the stuff with the oil floating on top unless it's in the dairy case. All the others contain un-natural oils or fats akin to crisco, sugars of various kinds and other unhealthy ingredients. For me, the label must say just "peanuts and salt".
Eliminating products containing HFCS has made eating healthier much easier for me, because it eliminates such a huge proportion of the "foods" on the selves.
Thanks, Elaine, for setting up this site. You're off to a great start!
